Shootout Regulations and Race Car Specifications for Y2K
Shootouts are races in which the Renegades run with the "Northern California Modified Association" (NCMA) on the same track.
Here are the rules...
Chassis:
1. Any Sprint frame or Modified (2X4) frame is acceptable.
2. Must use Jacob's ladder to bird cage.
3. No Wings unless special event.
4. Bodies optional.
5. Right front brake.
Weight:
1. 1,800 lbs. With driver after race.
a. First five finishers to tech area.
b. First three finishers subject to weigh.
Engine:
1. 360 c.i. plus 1.5% wear maximum.
2. Any type cam, roller rockers and girdles O.K.
a. Cars with roller cams must use a 14" right rear McCreary
spec tire.
3. Gear drive O.K.
4. Fuel will be distributed by 2 brl. Holley #4412
a. 2300 series 500 cfm
5. Any manifold or spacers.
6. Aluminum heads O.K.
7. Starter optional.
8. Water must be contained (ie; catch can)
9. Dry sump O.K.
Fuel:
1. Alcohol or Gasoline.
Mufflers:
1. All cars must have mufflers installed that will muffle engine
to 95 decibles or meet track requirements.
Tire Menu:
1. You may choose to run any of the following tire combinations:
A. Any of the following tires on any corner except the right
rear:
McCreary 25.0/11.0-15s (recommended left front)
McCreary 25.0/14.0-15s (recommended right front or left rear)
McCreary 26.0/14.0-15s (recommended left rear or right front)
You can run any of these tires, or amount, on any of these three
corners, left front, right front, left rear.
Right rear can be a Hoosier 17/28-15 take off (50 or 60 compound)
or a new McCreary 27.5/17.0-15s
B. Any take off (used tire) on any corner except right rear. If
so, right rear must be a McCreary 27.5/14.0-15s.
