1998 Shootout
On Merced Speedway's dirt track the Shootout Series was born between the Renegades and the NCMA. These pictures were taken on the one and only Shootout in 1998. It was a decision that was made after both clubs were scheduled to race on the same night in Merced. Instead of runnng seperately they decided to come up with a common set of rules and run together. Some were skeptical of the success of such an event. However everyone had so much fun that it was decided to make it a regular event. Watch for this exciting series in the Y2K season!
